This candy is too damn clever for its own good. I mean, it's like an inside joke wrapped in a masturbatory pun or something.
According to Wiki, when something is surreal, it features an element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions, and non-sequitur. So I'm guessing the copywriters thought to themselves, Hey, selves: the juxtaposition of hazelnut creme with crunchy wafer doesn't jive, why it's so unjivey, it's surreal. Ah, but the fact that it's named after something unexpected is also unexpected and hence, surreal. And the fact that this surprise name has zilch to do with food (more like an art movement?), let alone candy, makes its non-sequiturness surreal! And the fact that I'm dedicating 5 minutes of my life writing about this as though in a dreamlike state makes the whole experience... well, yes, surreal.
